More interactive and specific than a book or a lecture, tutorial seeks to teach by example and provide information to complete certain tasks. In computer-based education, tutorial is a computer program whose purpose is to assist users in learning how to use (part of) a software product such as office suites or other applications, operating system interface, programming tool, or game. The concept of independent learning in the tutorial contains an understanding, that the tutorial is a learning aid in an effort to trigger and stimulate self-reliance, discipline, and self-initiative of students in learning to minimize the intervention of the learner / tutor.
